MEET OUR COACHES
DANE GILMORE
Coming from a strong athletic background, Dane has trained his entire life. He attended Kent Prep school in Connecticut (hockey, football and Lacrosse), followed by St. Lawrence University in New York (football), before his career was cut short due to injury. Dane always envisioned himself in a coaching position, and has taken on that role with his clients.
Dane’s decision to become a Personal trainer stemmed from a near death accident that occurred in November 2011. After months of rehabilitation, he was able to come back stronger than ever. It was then that he decided that he wanted to help others do the same.
Dane has 2 certifications with Canfitpro (including that of an Associate pro Trainer), and is additionally certified as a nutrition coach with Precision Nutrition (the #1 nutrition coaching organization in the World). He also has an ELDOA level 1 certification (Postural exercise technique).
Dane has experience in training a wide variety of clients, from high school athletes working on sports performance, to senior citizens with whom he focuses on pain reduction. He is a firm believer in strength training for all levels. He believes that anyone can benefit from becoming a stronger version of themselves.
He has also worked with over 100 nutrition clients, helping them lose the body fat they wanted, through sustainable and healthy eating methods. Dane prides himself on giving the upmost support and encouragement to his clients, and will often go the extra mile to create an atmosphere that will allow for them to achieve the results they’re after.
JEAN DESTINÉ
From a young age, Jean Destiné had a passion to help people. With the opportunity to combine this passion with his love of fitness, Jean found his calling. After completing his FIT certification, Jean started as a volunteer fitness instructor and began teaching a variety of group fitness classes to persons of all fitness levels. From Muscle Toning and TRX to Cardio Cycle and Cardio Kickboxing, Jean`s classes aimed to challenge his clients to reach their next level of personal fitness.
Jean also became a certified personal trainer through the FIT certification. 12 years later, Jean has trained clients aged 5 to 80 years old. He even had the chance to be a trainer of personal trainers, which involved teaching the basic theory to students and evaluating future instructors. In his career, Jean progressed to Coordinator of the Weight Room, followed by Director of Health & Fitness at the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce YMCA. Throughout his extensive career in the fitness industry, Jean has always sought to inspire healthy and active lifestyles among his clients and students. He even taught a program for Kindergarten children in an effort to introduce them to fitness and instill in them a healthy lifestyle from an early age.
With a holistic approach to fitness, including a strong emphasis on posture, proper breathing, and movement, Jean’s aim is to help you reach your personal goals. His fitness programs incorporate balance, strength and flexibility. Whether you are looking to lose weight, or to prepare for a competition, Jean will guide, inspire and motivate you to attain your optimal health.
NOEL VEZINA
With a background in dance and performance, Noël has a passion for movement in all of its forms. She approaches exercise as a way to connect to the body, to support, understand and listen to the structures we live in.
Having lived with chronic pain throughout her life, this dedication to embodiment has allowed her to discover an inner strength and curiosity that unlocks infinite possibilities for self-love and growth, beyond all obstacles.
As a NASM certified personal trainer she’s eager to share that spark, and help others find love and joy in movement – whether that be in the studio or the gym. Considering community to be a core element of wellness, one thing she’s most excited about in joining the Paradigm team is the chance to meet her neighbors, and get more involved in the neighborhood!
MAYA NOURREDINE
Maya joined the Paradigm team in October, 2021, after completing the Internship program with Coach Jean and Coach Dane. Prior to being a coach, she was a Paradigm Fitness Member. She enjoys the team atmosphere and sense of community
During the pandemic, she worked as an early childhood educator before discovering her passion for fitness. When discussing this recent discovery with Coach Dane during an early morning workout session, he suggested she might enjoy being a personal trainer. Maya then went on a soul searching trip to BC where she cleared her mind in the wilderness. When she came back she had made up her mind and decided to enroll in the YMCA FITT certification, and has since been welcomed into the Paradigm team with open arms.
Maya has always been athletic, participating in competitive swimming and water polo throughout her childhood and teenage years. Now, she enjoys long cycling adventures in the summer and high intensity spin classes in the winter. Maya likes to push her physical limits and encourages others to do the same. Her background in education helps her to empower her clients through knowledge and understanding. She always aims to foster an environment where people can feel; welcomed, strong, confident, and happy.
NIKKI DIAZ
Nikki joined the team at Paradigm Fitness in 2019. She was intrigued by the idea of working in a gym atmosphere, as her two main passions in life are fitness and customer relations. Starting out as an administrative assistant, she’s now evolved her in-house position into a Customer Experience manager. From the moment a member walks into the door, Nikki is usually the first person there to greet them and she is always there to help every member with anything along the way!!
As someone who takes mental health very seriously, she swears by the importance of exercise and nutrition. She is very open about her experience with depression and anxiety, and she has been a true advocate to the importance of your health and well being to counteract the effects of such disorders.
Over time, she has organically built up a following of people who looked to her for guidance and inspiration. It seemed inevitable that she would take the next step to help even more people overcome the difficulties of not only mental health, but physical health. That is why Nikki became a certified nutrition coach and has now become a part of the online coaching team at Paradigm Fitness.

SUCCESS STORIES
KATHLEEN CAWTHORN
When I started training with Dane and the Paradigm coaches, I was recovering from a major injury that had set me back for two years. Dane and his team guided me back to my strongest and best self.
Whether your goal is strength training, weight loss, conditioning, sculpting or just keeping fit, Dane will design the best program for you and assist you diligently along the way, keeping you accountable for your results, and mostly, keeping the experience fun, rewarding and injury free!JOE PILOTTE
Paradigm Fitness first and foremost gave me the kickstart I needed. They then held me accountable through their teaching and constant check ins.
The difference for me was that they actually cared and catered things to me. It was the personal touch that helped me on such a personal journey. I now have knowledge to take advantage of the weight loss I have already accomplished to continue to pursue my goals.
